We had our first real taste of winter on Long Island this week — not gentle flakes, but a full-on windy squall! Have you had your first glimpse of winter weather yet where you are?

My daughter and I were out on our daily walk when it rolled in, and after a few windy minutes we decided to cut things short and head home. But before we turned back, I couldn’t resist… I started singing Christmas songs with her. I know some people think it’s too early, but I’ve always loved everything about Christmas. My mom made the time feel magical growing up, and now I get to pass a little of that on to my daughter.
